Bridge AI is the technology side of Pathways International. It is being developed to make accessible study support more responsive, alongside — never instead of — the qualified Non-Medical Help practitioners we already provide.
Bridge AI is in development. It is a prototype and pilot activity, not a launched product, and nothing on this page implies results, availability or endorsement.
Designed with disabled students — features are shaped by the students who would use them, through direct feedback rather than assumptions about need.
Human oversight by default — a qualified practitioner remains responsible for the support a student receives. Bridge AI assists that work; it does not make support decisions.
Accessibility considered first — keyboard operation, screen-reader semantics, contrast and readable typography are design requirements, not later additions.
Privacy and data protection — we are building Bridge AI to handle student information under UK GDPR, with data minimisation, clear retention limits and no sale of student data. Pathways International Limited is ICO registered (ZC180029).
Stage 1 — Research: understanding where students lose access: lecture pace, note quality, unfamiliar terminology and inconsistent materials.
Stage 2 — Prototype: building small, testable pieces such as the real-time definitions and accessibility mode demos shown on this page.
Stage 3 — Closed pilot: limited testing with consenting students and practitioners, with feedback shaping what we keep, change or remove.
Stage 4 — Review: independent accessibility testing and a privacy review before any wider availability is considered.
